The Parable of the Two Builders

Jesus told a good story, or parable, in the Sermon on the
Mount. A parable is a story that teaches us a lesson about
life. This is the story Jesus told:
A wise man built his house on a rock, so that it had a good
foundation. A terrible rainstorm came and the winds
blew, but it didn't hurt his house.
A foolish man built his house on the sand. When the
rains and wind came, the house fell apart because the sand
that served as its foundation washed away.
If you build your life on a strong foundation, you will be
able to handle whatever happens. If you don't have a
good foundation of beliefs and morals, when difficult times
come, you will probably find yourself, like the foolish man,
with nothing left.
Build a good foundation! Listen to your parents and
your teachers, and keep Jesus in your heart. Your
faith will see you through! |
