Prophecy Scrolls Craft Project

In the time of Isaiah, people didn't have notebooks or computers.  They wrote on papyrus scrolls instead.

All of Isaiah's great writings were put on individual scrolls.  In this project, you can make a scroll and

make a prophecy based on your faith!

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Yellow construction paper, cut into 5" x 5" squares

  • 4 popsicle sticks

  • Ribbon or string

  • Stickers (optional)

                                            plus

  • ruler
  • markers or crayons
  • scissor
  • glue

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

 1. Use a ruler to measure and outline two 5" x 5" squares on the construction paper and cut them out.

 2. Glue a popsicle stick at the top and bottom of the square.

 3. Write or draw a prophecy about your faith and your life on one square.  Write or draw a prophecy about a parent, sibling,  or good friend on the other. Decorate your scroll with crayons or stickers.

 4. Use the sticks to roll your prophecy scrolls up.

 5. Tie your scrolls shut with ribbon or string.

Variations:  Younger children can draw or use pictures from a magazine or the internet to illustrate their prophecy.
