Praying Hands Plaque Craft Project

You will need:

  • 6" round wooden plaque
  • Pattern (4 per page)
  • 1/2" stick-on black lettering
  • 5" length of string and an 8 1/2" length of string
  • t-shirt transfer paper
  • white felt
  • a cotton ball (stuffing)
                   plus

  •  wood stain
  • cotton rags
  • scissors
  • pencil
  • iron & ironing board
  • craft glue

Instructions
 1.  Stain the wooden plaque.
 2.   Print pattern on t-shirt transfer paper.
 3.

Wrap the string around the outside of the plaque to determine how to center the wording on the plaque.   "Who Art in Heaven" is approximately 8 1/2" long using 1/2" lettering.  "Our Father" is about 5" in length. Make small marks with the pencil on the plaque to show where the two phrases should start and end.

 4. Place the lettering on the plaque as shown in the picture at the top of this page.
 5.  Follow instructions on the transfer package to iron the transfer onto the white felt and cut out the graphic .
 6.  Use a cotton ball for "stuffing."  Stretch it out so it will fit evenly under the transfer, leaving about 1/4"  edge so the transfer can be glued directly to the plaque.

7.

Put a small line of glue along the outside edge of the back of transfer.

 8.  Carefully glue the transfer over the cotton onto the plaque.
